Principal’s Welcome

Our greatest strength, without doubt, is our students.

Welcome to Northern Bay P–12 College,

A place where students are supported to achieve strong learning outcomes and, just as importantly, to grow as positive and active members of their community.

Before I continue, I respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our College stands, the Waddawurrung People. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging, and acknowledge the rich cultures, histories and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We remain committed to strengthening respectful relationships and recognising the diverse cultures that enrich our school community.

Northern Bay P–12 College is a comprehensive government school providing a coordinated Prep to Year 12 education across five campuses in the Geelong suburbs of Corio and Norlane. Established through the merger of nine local schools, our College offers continuity, connection and consistency for children and young people throughout their educational journey.

We are proud to provide a broad range of learning opportunities that extend well beyond the classroom. These include the Geelong Industry Trade Training Centre (GITTC), our Family and Early Learning Centre, the Staughton Vale Outdoor Education Centre, and our involvement in the Our Place initiative through the Korayn Birallee Community Centre. Together, these partnerships allow us to support students and families in meaningful and practical ways.

At Northern Bay P–12 College, we offer a comprehensive curriculum that places strong value on student voice and agency. Students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning, develop confidence and build the skills they need for future success. Our teaching and learning programs are carefully planned to reflect this focus and to meet the diverse needs of our students.

These classroom programs are complemented by a range of engaging co-curricular opportunities. These include SEED, our specialist sports program; IMPACT, an immersive and experiential arts program; and the Extended School Day program, which provides enriching after-school experiences that further support student learning and wellbeing.

Our greatest strength, without doubt, is our students. They consistently demonstrate our College values of Growth, Persistence, Collaboration and Kindness in their learning and interactions with others. When you spend time in our classrooms or school spaces, you will quickly sense the positive spirit that defines Northern Bay P–12 College. I encourage you to explore our growing library of program videos to hear directly from our students and see their learning in action.

As Principal, I am incredibly proud to work alongside our inspiring students and a dedicated team of educators who share a deep commitment to their success and wellbeing. This gives me great confidence that your experience with our College will be a positive and welcoming one.

On behalf of the entire Northern Bay P–12 College community, thank you for taking the time to learn more about our school. We warmly welcome you.

Scott Diamond
