SEEDLINGS

SEEDLINGS is a Friday sport and teamwork program that brings together our Year 5 and 6 students from across the college, helping them develop skills, confidence, connection, and school pride through a range of sporting opportunities.

Each Friday, our Year 6 students participate in the off-site SEEDLINGS program at Tallis Campus and Windsor Oval, where they train and compete in selected district sports in preparation for the Winter and Summer Lightning Premierships against other districts. Students choose from activities including volleyball, netball, football, T-ball and soccer, building teamwork and connections with peers across campuses while gaining an early understanding of the wider SEED program.

Our Year 5 students remain on campus and take part in a development-focused program where they rotate through all sports, allowing them to build skills, confidence and discover the sport they would like to further develop in Year 6.

SEEDLINGS is a highlight of the week for many students, offering a fun and engaging way to stay active, build friendships and strengthen their sense of belonging within the Northern Bay College community.

SEED

Through sport, we aim to empower our students to set high expectations for themselves while developing their skills, physical wellbeing, and personal character. The SEED program supports students to grow into confident, capable individuals with strong potential for future success.

The SEED Program provides all Northern Bay College students with opportunities to:

  • Achieve success in both sport and academic learning
  • Demonstrate NBC community values of kindness, collaboration, persistence and growth in all sporting contexts
  • Access expert coaching and targeted skill development
  • Build positive relationships with peers, staff, and the wider school and local community
  • Develop self-esteem and confidence through positive sporting experiences
  • Establish lifelong habits of physical activity and wellbeing
  • Explore clear pathways within sport, physical education and health industries
  • Take part in meaningful leadership opportunities
  • Engage in a wide range of sporting experiences through partnerships with local clubs, coaches and facilities

All Year 7–12 students involved in the SEED program are expected to uphold high standards in attendance, behaviour, and personal character.

A.B.C's

Both SEEDLINGS and SEED have key guiding principals that aim to support students to thrive within the programs, and in the wider school environment. These are the A.B.Cs:

A= Attendance
B= Behaviour
C= Character

ABC is strictly monitored to ensure the highest outcomes and expectations are met.
