School Choir at Northern Bay College

The School Choir program at Northern Bay P–12 College provides students with opportunities to develop confidence, teamwork and performance skills through music and singing. Open to students across a range of year levels, the choir encourages creativity, self-expression and a strong sense of belonging while bringing students together through a shared passion for music. Students regularly perform at college events and community celebrations, proudly representing the college through the performing arts.

Through the IMPACT program, students are supported to build positive relationships, increase engagement in school life and develop personal growth through participation in music and performance opportunities. The program helps students strengthen communication, leadership, resilience and teamwork skills while creating meaningful connections with peers and staff.

Northern Bay College students also have the opportunity to participate in the Victorian State Schools Spectacular, performing alongside students from schools across Victoria in a professional large-scale production. Participation in this event allows students to experience high-level rehearsals and performances while developing confidence, discipline and pride in representing their college on a statewide stage.

Students have also been involved in programs and performances with Short Black Opera, providing valuable cultural and artistic experiences through music. These opportunities allow students to work with professional performers and mentors while deepening their appreciation of the arts, storytelling and performance. Through these experiences, students gain confidence and develop skills that extend far beyond the classroom.
